Sunday Morning Service: https://youtu.be/0LptoBl05C8 Adult Ministry (Sunday School) Wednesday Night (Adults) Student Ministry (Sunday School) Student Ministry (Wednesday Night) Bible Stories For Kids Wednesday Night Kids TITLE:   THE JOY ARISING FROM OUR HOPE SCRIPTURE:  2 Peter 4:1-2, 12-19 DATE:  July 5, 2020 _____________________________________________________ OPENING : Phil Robertson, initially of Duck Dynasty has an amazing testimony.  He openly admits to living in the flesh for the first 28 years of his life.  Yet now he loudly proclaims to not be ashamed because he is a new person and has been for about 46 years now. In talking about his pre Christian life, he states “I didn’t realize who Jesus was/is.  Phil was a person as described in verse 2, “spending his time in the flesh for the lust of humans.” He went from wide open for the lust of the flesh to sold out and wide open for Christ and the Gospel. Over and over he speaks of the joy he now has and the joy he had and almost lost while he was pursuing the ways of the world. QUESTION 1– What are some of the things that bring you joy? First Scripture:  1 Peter 4:1-2 If we back up just a few verses, we see that “Christ suffered once for sins, the just and the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the spirit.”  From that we move to verse 1 which instructs us to arm ourselves with the mind of Christ. That is Peter. Another of the Biblical giants, Paul, says it this way, “Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11).  Then Paul goes on to tell us what the armor is and what specific use each piece has. Simply put, we are called to be of the same mind with Christ.  Since Christ suffered in physical pain on the cross as the cost of bringing salvation to us, we are going to suffer in the flesh as well.  Thankfully, ours will be nothing like what Christ did for us.  Some of our suffering is because we no longer “feed the flesh” so to speak.  But this suffering has a reward of its own, it is like a thorn in the flesh that is calling us back to our old ways.  If it is calling us back then we have turned from it.  Peter says sin, while trying to get us back, is one of the causes of suffering. If we feel it, be happy, happy, happy because that means we are on the right road.  When we live for the will of God, the devil fights hard to get us back in to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the prideful life (1 John 2:16).  Our flesh becomes a battle ground.  It is better for the battle to still be raging in us than for it to be over with a surrender to satan.  Our battle will never completely stop in this life.  We are either backsliding in which the Holy Spirit is convicting us, or we are “in the Word” and satan is attacking...

SWO 2020

Halesford Student Ministry will be headed to Swo 2020 July 27 – August 1, 2020!!! Summer Camp at Snowbird is all about pointing students to the Gospel. Offering nearly two-dozen recreation options, we are committed to high-adventure recreation. More than that, we are committed to Gospel-centered discipleship. Our summer camps host two worship services per day, engaging students through song, expositional preaching, drama, and video. In addition, multiple daily breakout sessions cover a wide range of relevant topics, from apologetics and missions to relationships and Bible doctrine. Each day concludes with small group sessions, allowing our staff to engage students in personal relationships and encouraging youth groups to grow as a community Since the beginning of time, God has been speaking to mankind through His Word. In this progressive unfolding revelation of Himself, we can learn much about His person and nature. In fact, in every passage of Scripture, we can learn more about God, mankind, and the salvation that He brings to us. Their desire in SWO20 is to go through some of these popular “Bible Stories” to uncover these Gospel truths and how they can relate to us today. You don’t want to miss this!!  Mark your calendar this summer July 27 – August 1, 2020.  Are you ready for the challenge of your life?  Visit our camp website at www.swoutfitters.com. Student Ministry

Student Ministry

We want to see generations of teens rise to the call that God has placed on their lives and see the amazing journey He has for them!  We invite to come and be apart of our Student Ministry. The Youth Ministry of Halesford meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM.  Youth Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. We have the privilege of reaching students in grades 6-12. Our goal is to partner with parents, help students grow in the gospel, and equip them to fulfill the Great Commission by reaching, teaching and sending them to make disciples of all nations. Our purpose is to see students come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9). Then students learn how to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30) as they follow Jesus in their daily walk. What is G3? Gather – Developing students spiritual walk with God. Grow – Teaching students core biblical truths. Go – Sending students into their community to be a witness for Christ Our teens are a part of a ministry that is Christ centered, relevant to their generation, and exciting to be a part of; that’s what we are all about! Our student calendar is full of events, concerts, mission opportunities, and other great ways to get connected and build lasting relationships. We look forward to meeting you here! You can also find us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/G3-Student-Ministry-458804054243007/   “With” is a small group lead by Pastor Taylor and his wife Hailey once a month on Sunday at 5:00pm in the Youth Center. This is designed for teenagers who want to take their relationship with Christ to a deeper level.  This is a great opportunity for Halesford students to gather together in a small group setting to hear from God and do life together.  We grow with each other, are accountable to each other, and walk with Christ together.  We have been made new in Christ, so therefore we need to walk with that newness of life every day. Romans 6:4  Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Scaremare presents fun-house rooms and scenes of death in order to confront people with the question “What happens after I die?” Groups of people experience a 40-minute journey, passing through creepy trails, dark woods and eventually entering the House. At the end of the experience, visitors are presented with an answer to this question and given the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Approximately 26,000 people have made decisions for Christ over the past two decades. Ironically, this House of Death points to the Way of Life! Students will be leaving the church at 6:30 Saturday evening October 19.  Please sign up in the youth room.  For more details please contact Pastor Taylor  540 – 598-0553.  Students will need to bring $10 to get in, and money for a fast food dinner.   Justified!!! The Bible teaches that Christians have been declared righteous before God. We have been justified in His presence because the perfect righteousness of Jesus has been accredited to our account. But what does this mean for us on a daily basis? Does this mean...
